Alpe di Siusi
The high meadow, kept polite.

In winter
One of Europe's great high plateaus, groomed for gentle skiing and enormous skies. Winter up here is slow luxury: cross-country before breakfast, sun loungers at lunch, the Sciliar going gold at four.
In summer
Summer is the plateau's aria. Meadows to the horizon, hay barns, walks measured in hours of light rather than kilometres. Cars are restricted, which is precisely the point.
Stay & table
A handful of high-altitude houses with spa floors larger than the ski area maps. Stay up top for the mornings, or below in Castelrotto for village life.
Specific houses, tables and openings are covered in the Journal, with facts checked and dated.
