San Cassiano
A hamlet with a serious kitchen.

In winter
San Cassiano is the discreet address of Alta Badia. A small church, a handful of hotels that people cross Europe for, and pistes that slide you toward long lunches at altitude. Winter here is soft-spoken, expensive and entirely worth it.
In summer
Summer trades skis for trails through the Fanes meadows and dinners that stretch past the last light on the Conturines. Bring appetite and no schedule.
Stay & table
The hamlet holds some of the most celebrated hospitality in the Dolomites, the kind where the concierge remembers the dog's name. Reserve the table when you reserve the room.
Specific houses, tables and openings are covered in the Journal, with facts checked and dated.
